Drew Mitchell Accepts Promotion as Ag Lender
First Security is pleased to announce that Drew Mitchell has been promoted to Ag Lender. In this role, he’ll primarily work out of First Security’s Charles City and Riceville locations.
Drew joined First Security as a Credit Analyst in August of 2022. In this position, he was responsible for analyzing financial statements and preparing loan presentations with the goal of evaluating the financial condition of customers and those applying for credit.
Drew was raised on a farm near Charles City. Growing up, he and his family showed cattle through his involvement in FFA and 4-H. Even now he remains involved in these activities through his family’s small show cattle operation and as a member of the Floyd County Fair Board.
Not only does Drew possess hands on ag experience, but he also received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture business from Iowa State University. Since starting at First Security, he has also completed education through the Iowa Bankers Association’s Introduction to Commercial Lending School and the first year of Ag Credit School, which he will complete in June of 2024.
Ag Lending Manager Chris Corcoran said, “Drew’s local roots, solid ag background, and understanding of ag credit and finance will serve customers well. We look forward to him joining our lending team.”
Besides his involvement as a Floyd County Fair board member, Drew is an active volunteer as a football coach for Charles City High School, and as a member for both the Main Street Charles City Business Improvement Committee and the Charles City Lion’s Club.
During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Madison and his family. He also enjoys sports and attending cattle shows.
