First Security will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, September 8. We hope you have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable holiday weekend!
First Security values innovation. The bank embraces new ideas and approaches to doing business, and that also includes being open to change.
In 2015, a major change for First Security employees and their customers was the implementation of ITMs, otherwise known as Video Banking.
Now in 2024, traffic at First Security’s remaining two drive-up windows in Charles City and Hampton will be redirected to the bank’s Video Banking lanes. This change will be implemented on September 16th.
Rest assured, bank lobbies and the teller line are still available for customers that don’t prefer video interaction. However, those that do make use of the drive-up will have access to a banker longer than any other bank in the area. Our Video Bankers are available from 7am – 6pm Monday – Friday and from 8am – 1pm on Saturdays.
Despite having longer business hours, fewer bank staff are required to work evenings and weekends because of Video Banking. This gives employees the flexibility to choose to learn the Video Banking role and work those extra evening and weekend hours or have their evenings and weekends off with their families.
This benefit applies to all First Security locations, as Video Bankers assist customers in eight communities including Charles City, Hampton, Manly, Nora Springs, Riceville, Rockford, Rockwell, and Thornton.
On the other hand, Video Banking is not “self-service.” With a tap of the screen, a local banker is available to help with a large variety of transactions that have traditionally been done at drive-up windows or the lobby Teller line:
