Chelle Schlader and Zach Mitchell Promoted to Assistant Vice President

First Security is happy share the news of two promotions: Chelle Schlader and Zach Mitchell to Assistant Vice President. 

Chelle Schlader has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Chelle joined the bank in 2020, bringing 24 years of banking experience to her role as Loan Operations Supervisor. In this role, she oversees the loan operations and collections department employees, who are responsible for residential and consumer loan processing and servicing as well as collateral and collections processes. In 2024, Chelle graduated from the Iowa Bankers Association’s (IBA) Leadership Institute. This comprehensive program is designed for bankers who wish to set higher goals and enhance their personal skills for leadership roles in banking and the community.

“Chelle is doing a wonderful job leading a great group of employees in the Loan Operations department and is very deserving of this promotion,” said Chief Operating Officer Randy Hassman. “She’s made it a priority to learn the responsibility of each employee she supervises -no small task, but one that has greatly strengthened her effectiveness as a leader.”

Portfolio Manager Supervisor Zach Mitchell has been promoted to Assistant Vice President. Zach joined First Security in 2023 with experience in agronomy sales and banking. He also holds a degree in agricultural business from Iowa State University and is a graduate of the IBA Ag Credit School.

“Zach is a wonderful asset to the bank,” said Chief Lending Officer Scott Smits. “He is very knowledgeable about banking and different software, and that’s been instrumental in implementing new tools and processes for our department. Additionally, he’s a great advocate for the community through his volunteerism and role as assistant coach for the Charles City High School football team.”
