Chuck Mersch Hired as Chief Financial Officer
First Security is proud to announce the addition of Chuck Mersch as Chief Financial Officer. His previous roles include 17 years working in Finance and Risk Management with the previous nearly 4 years as Vice President of Finance and Analytics.
“I have always enjoyed the people where I’ve worked and being able to make an impact on the financial wellness of others’ lives,” said Chuck. “I’m excited to be joining a great leadership team at First Security and work for a bank that has had an impact in the community for such a long time.”
President and CEO Brad Miller added, “As a lifelong Iowan, Chuck understands what makes this area special and what a great bank like First Security can do to improve the lives of our customers and the communities we serve.”
Chuck’s education includes an undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems as well as a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Strategy, both from the University of Iowa. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst credential and Financial Risk Manager designation.
“Achieving the Chartered Financial Analyst designation ensures a depth of knowledge in a number of critical areas,” said Brad. “We are pleased to have Chuck’s experience, skill, and dedication added to our team at First Security.”
Outside of work, Chuck is involved with two boards at the University of Iowa: The Tippie Analytics Cooperative Advisory Council and the Finance Advisory Council. Additionally, he enjoys attending Hawkeye athletics and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
