Dave Jarvill to Begin Transition to Retirement— While Remaining Actively Involved
After more than 32 years of dedicated service to clients with First Security Investment Services, Dave Jarvill is entering the transition phase of retirement—but he’s not stepping away just yet. Starting August 15, Dave will shift to a part-time role and continue supporting clients during a two-year transition period.
With deep roots in Charles City and decades of experience in financial planning, Dave built the Investment Services department from the ground up. Today, the team manages more than $300 million in assets for over 800 clients.
“I have had the rare opportunity to help people through the entire financial planning cycle,” said Dave. “I’ve helped clients plan and invest for retirement, I’ve helped those same people in the next stage by providing retirement income planning, and with many, I have been there when a spouse passes, and they needed help with estate matters.”
Clients can expect the same high level of care and attention they’ve come to rely on. Dave, who is moving to Colorado to be closer to family, and particularly his grandchildren, will remain available by phone and will return to the Charles City office for one week each quarter.
“I’m not disappearing,” said Dave. “I’ll still be here to help—just with a little more flexibility. I’ll be working part-time, but clients’ needs are still my priority.”
During this transition, day-to-day operations will be led by Bobbi Spainhower, Dave’s trusted colleague. Bobbi, Osaic Institutions Investment Advisor Representative, has been with First Security Investment Services for 12 years and has been instrumental in preparing for this change. She has earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS™), FINRA Series 7, FINRA Series 66, Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF®), and is actively working toward her Certified Financial Planner designation.
“As I step into this next chapter, I want to express how truly grateful and humbled I am for the trust clients have placed in me over the years,” said Dave. “It’s been an honor to help them work toward their financial goals and, hopefully, make life a little better along the way.
“On behalf of my family, I want to thank them for their support, trust, and the many laughs and great conversations we’ve shared. They've made a lasting difference in our lives—and I look forward to staying connected, even as things slow down just a bit.”
Dave’s first quarterly return to the Charles City office will be October 19–24. In the meantime, he remains just a phone call away.
