First Security Bank Announces $10,000 to Franklin County Fair Foundation for New ADA Bleachers

In 2025, Franklin County will celebrate 166 years of summer tradition with the Franklin County Fair. As the fair has grown and evolved alongside its residents, the Franklin County Fair Board has remained committed to meeting the community’s changing needs. In 2024, that commitment included over $90,000 in ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) upgrades to restrooms and walkways at the Grandstand. First Security contributed $10,000 to the project at that time.

The Franklin County Fair Board is now planning ADA upgrades for the bleachers. The project includes a five-row, 75-foot aluminum frame bleacher system with seating for 208 individuals. Integrated into this structure are three double ADA cutouts: designated spaces within the bleachers that accommodate wheelchair users alongside companion seating. These modifications ensure that individuals with mobility devices can sit comfortably and socially with friends or family, rather than being separated from the crowd.

On the opposite end of the facility, a 70-foot ADA platform will be installed. This spacious platform measures nearly 10 feet deep and provides additional ADA seating. There will be 16 wheelchair areas, 16 companion seats, and an additional 30-foot-long straight wheelchair zone. Together, these improvements create seating options for over 30 individuals with disabilities and their companions, making the venue more welcoming and equitable for all visitors.

Estimated costs are $70,000, and First Security is proud to contribute another $10,000 toward the project.

Project spearhead and long-time fair board member Scot Horner is very pleased with the final ADA bleacher project.
