First Security Contributes to Carrie Lane Girlhood Home
First Security has donated $5,000 to support the preservation of the Carrie Lane Chapman Catt Girlhood Home. Originally restored in 1996, the historic site recently required additional improvement projects to help maintain and protect the integrity of the previous renovation.
The Carrie Lane Chapman Catt Girlhood Home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it an important destination for visitors and history enthusiasts alike. Preserving and sharing the history of the women’s suffrage movement, including the impact of the 19th Amendment, will continue to be a key focus for the site moving forward.
Heidi Worrall, Chief Administrative Officer at First Security and board member of the 19th Amendment Society, shared her thoughts on the contribution, “I think it’s amazing that we have such a significant piece of history right here in our community that is connected to the suffrage movement. I feel fortunate to work for an organization like First Security that supports efforts to keep Carrie’s childhood home open and in good repair for now and in the future. I would encourage anyone who hasn’t been there yet to take the opportunity to visit the property.”
First Security is proud to contribute to the preservation of this historic destination and to help ensure its legacy continues to educate and inspire future generations.
