First Security Supports Four Oaks Project, Helping Provide a Safe Space for Healing

First Security contributed $1,000 to Four Oaks to support the purchase, installation, and maintenance of cloud-based security camera systems at the Mason City West facility. The upgraded system will benefit the Psychiatric Medical Institute for Children (PMIC) inpatient programs, which serve children ages 5–18.

The proposed camera system is cloud-based, encrypted, and designed without onsite recorders, allowing secure remote viewing access for authorized users. The project is expected to enhance safety, strengthen quality of care, and improve the ability to monitor youth activities while quickly identifying and addressing potential safety concerns or critical incidents.

In addition, camera footage will provide valuable documentation during investigations, assist law enforcement when necessary, and help reduce the time required to review allegations—minimizing staffing disruptions that can occur during investigations. The system will also create opportunities for real-time staff training, coaching, and feedback.
