Bank Welcomes New CFO
The First Security Bank & Trust Board of Directors and President/CEO Kurt Herbrechtsmeyer are pleased to announce that Brad Miller has joined First Security as Chief Financial Officer.
As Chief Financial Officer, Miller will be responsible for regulatory reporting as well as the accounting, treasury, and investment functions of the bank. He joins First Security with a background in public accounting, institutional investment management, and community-based financial institutions.
He was raised in Wichita, Kansas, and he received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas. He then went on to Washburn University to achieve a Master of Business Administration degree. He also earned a Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Institute.
“Brad brings tremendous financial and analytical experience that we will benefit from as a bank,” said Herbrechtsmeyer. “He and his family are going to add a lot of energy and experience to our community as well.”
Miller is looking forward to introducing his family to the area.
“The Charles City community is vibrant with access to great schools and a number of things to do. The people here are kind and go the extra mile to help each other,” said Miller. “Additionally, First Security interested me because it aims to support and improve this and other communities it serves.”
When not at work he enjoys oil painting as well as outdoor activities like hiking, running, fishing, and camping. He also likes to volunteer and typically concentrates those efforts in the areas of helping the hungry, homeless, and under-housed.
