First Security Announces Retirement of Chief Credit Officer Cathi Luett
After a decades-long career in finance, First Security’s Cathi Luett is set to retire from her role as Chief Credit Officer.
Prior to joining First Security, Cathi worked for the Iowa Division of Banking as a bank examiner. She retired from that role with the goal of being what she calls a “helpful bridge” somewhere else.
“I wanted to use the knowledge I gained from my career as an examiner to benefit a local company,” said Cathi, who lives in the Nora Springs area. “I am proud of the credit department I’ve helped to build. They are in a great position for the future.”
President/CEO Brad Miller added, “Part of being a true leader is developing the next generation of bankers. Cathi’s coaching, mentoring and development of other staff members will continue to add value for many years to come.”
In fact, the people are what Cathi will miss the most about her career at First Security.
“I have a hard time thinking about not coming to the bank,” said Cathi. “I have heard that if you do something you love for your job, you will never work a day in your life. During this time, I’ve continued to learn, and I really appreciate the new friendships! It has been a joy!”
With Cathi’s retirement will come the time and flexibility to do more of what she loves – care for her acreage and horses, travel with her husband Dave, and help her daughter, who is involved with raising Shorthorn cattle. She will also remain active as the Board Treasurer for the North Iowa Fair.
“We wish Cathi the best in her retirement,” said Miller. “Her contributions are highly appreciated. Her infectious positive attitude, can-do spirit and collaborative talents have helped to keep First Security a great bank.”
First Security held a private celebration in Cathi’s honor on April 28th.
