Katelyn Schwery Promoted to Assistant Vice President, Marketing Manager

Katelyn Schwery has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Marketing Manager. Katelyn started at First Security in 2014 as a Human Resources and Marketing Assistant. She transitioned to the role of Advertising and Public Relations Specialist in 2016 and led the bank’s outreach efforts regarding community event participation for several years. Her roles also included graphic design, copywriting, and advertisement planning.

In 2022, Katelyn achieved the American Bankers Association’s (ABA) Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation after months of study and preparation that began with attending the ABA Bank Marketing School. She passed an exam to earn the certificate, and she completes continuing education credits to maintain it. According to the ABA, the CFMP is the only industry-recognized certification for bank marketers, and demonstrates “mastery of data and analytics, leadership, strategy, revenue generation, and more.”

“Katelyn has played an important role in the marketing function of the bank,” said Chief Administrative Officer Heidi Worrall. “Her work history, work ethic, education, and accomplishments give her a great foundation to lead the bank’s marketing efforts. It is wonderful to have her step into this leadership position.”

In Katelyn’s new role, she will assist with many of the same duties, but will also be responsible for leading and developing marketing strategies and managing other staff within the department.
