Schoenfeldt and Wilson Complete IBA Leadership Institute

First Security is pleased to announce that Lacy Schoenfeldt and Amy Wilson have successfully completed the Iowa Bankers Association (IBA) Leadership Institute.

The IBA Leadership Institute is a comprehensive professional development program designed for bankers who aspire to strengthen their leadership abilities and prepare for expanded leadership roles within their organizations and communities.

Twenty-four bankers from across Iowa participated in the 2026 Leadership Institute, where they explored topics including strategic thinking, DiSC personality profiles, public speaking, economic development, government relations, effective communication, and coaching. Participants also attended the IBA Management Conference and visited the Iowa State Capitol to learn more about the Iowa Bankers Association's advocacy efforts.

Amy Wilson shared, "Attending the IBA Leadership Institute was an incredibly valuable experience. It gave me the opportunity to connect and build relationships with banking professionals from across the state while gaining practical tools and insights that I could immediately apply with my team. Learning about topics like generational differences, DiSC personality assessments, and navigating difficult conversations has had a meaningful impact on my leadership approach. I've already been able to put many of these lessons into practice and look forward to continuing to share what I've learned with my team. I'm grateful to First Security for investing in my professional development and providing me with this opportunity."

Lacy Schoenfeldt shared, "The IBA Leadership Institute was a great opportunity to connect with and learn from other bankers across Iowa. Building relationships with professionals from different communities and sharing ideas and experiences gave me new perspectives that I can bring back to First Security. Those insights will help me better connect with both my coworkers and the customers we serve.
