Shredding Confidential Papers: Why, Where, & How

Shredding documents like bank statements, checks, credit card receipts, credit reports, or ATM receipts is one way to protect personal privacy, prevent identity theft, and reduce clutter in homes. As a financial institution, First Security has a responsibility to assist in these tasks because not everyone has access to a shredder.

We want to help keep personal documents private, so we are offering a FREE shred event for our communities!

From July 22nd to August 2nd, bins will be at the following First Security Bank locations: Dumont, Manly, Nora Springs, Riceville, Rockford, Rockwell, and Thornton. It will be as simple as walking into the lobby of your First Security location with your documents and putting them into the bins.

On August 2nd, a truck will be at the Charles City and Hampton locations, which will be perfect for those with a lot to shred!
